Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) is the busiest airport in Bangladesh. It is located in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. The airport has two parts, one for departure passengers and one for arrival passengers. There are duty free shops available in both departure and arrival area.

Instructions for purchase of goods from duty free shops for departing and Arriving Passengers:

a. Duty free shops at HSIA are open to all passengers departing from or arriving at the airport. Passengers can purchase a variety of goods, including liquor, tobacco, perfume, Chocolates, cosmetics, etc. The prices of goods in duty free shops are typically lower than the prices of goods in regular shops.

b. The duty free allowance for liquor for departure passengers is 2 liters. This allowance applies to all passengers, regardless of their nationality.

c. The duty free allowance for liquor for arrival passengers is different for citizens of Bangladesh and non-citizens of Bangladesh. Non-Citizens of Bangladesh or without Bangladeshi passport holders are allowed to bring 1 liter of liquor into the country duty free. Citizens of Bangladesh or Bangladeshi passport holders are not allowed to bring any liquor into the country.
